Best Actor : Colin Firth “Yes”
Best Actress : Natalie Portman “Yes”
Best Supporting Actor : Geoffrey Rush “Nope, the fighter Bale got it”
Best Supporting Actress : Melissa Leo “Yes”
Best Picture : The Social Network “No , King me”
Best Original Screenplay : Christopher Nolan “King’s Speech”
Best Adapted Screenplay : Aaron Sorkin “Yes – Good call”
Best Director : David Fincher “No – Kinged again”
Best Animated Feature : Toy Story 3 “This was a can’t miss”
Best Original Score : Trent Reznor / Atticus Ross “Amazing”
Best Sound Editing : Richard King for Inception “Yes”
Best Sound Mixing : Inception
Best Cinematography : True Grit “No Inception, True Grit got the shaft”
Best Editing : The Social Network “Yes – good call”
Best Visual Effects : Inception “Yes”
I could be totally wrong, but I think those have a good chance of winning.
Best Sound for just the Bong sounds in Inception
Just watched social network this evening, no way that get’s Best Picture, it will go to the Last Air Bender for sure! Well okay so TLAB isn’t even nominated. So how about King’s Speech.
I enjoyed The King’s Speech more, if only just for Geoffrey Rush nicking the perfect role maybe ever for himself. That said, I think the mojo is behind The Social Network for a huge night’s pull. I simultaneously greatly respected that film while also being somewhat put off by the utter lack of connection with any of the characters. It was perhaps the best film that I will probably never want to see again. Inception was also strangely detached emotionally, but I would easily watch it again for the phenomenal visceral feel of it all.
